W for Westminster

We have previously looked at why using postcodes is an unreliable way of deciding what is and what is not Notting Hill. Many people seem to assume that the W11 postcode falls exclusively within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. While this is mostly true, there are quite a few exceptions. 

The boundaries of the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea,  City of Westminster, and Hammersmith & Fulham can be blurry at times. As previously discussed, there are a handful of streets with the W11 postcode that are located in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham. There are, however, many more streets with the W11 postcodes that belong to the City of Westminster. Just to make things even more confusing, some roads are located in both boroughs.
